Neutral #1 (Golden Hour) is a sculpture specifically made for utsc. This sculpture was made to contrast the Andrews Building, known as the brutalist masterpiece by John Andrews. The Andrews Building was created to be a meeting place for people, ideas, and nature. This sculpture adds a new layer to the building by juxtaposing its physical characteristics. While the Andrews Building is made from concrete, Neutral #1 is made from stain and fur material, the Andrews Building is hard and with a gray tone but the sculpture is round and colorful. Furthermore, the sculpture was created to spark conversation about "neutralness" in architecture. What does it mean to be a meeting place for various people and ideas?
